Summary

Enter your original size and target output size to get the proportional scale percentage and exact scaled dimensions.

How it works

  1. Select a unit (inches, mm, or cm) to work in.
  2. Enter the original design width and height, or pick a preset size like A4 or Letter.
  3. Enter the target output width and height, or pick a preset size like A0 or Tabloid.
  4. The calculator shows the uniform scale percentage (fit inside target) and per-axis scale factors.
  5. If aspect ratios differ, a warning tells you by how much so you can choose to crop or add bleed.
  6. Copy any value or use the result to update your design software's export settings.

Use cases

  • Scale a business-card design up to a postcard without redrawing it.
  • Find the percentage to enlarge an A4 mockup to A0 for a trade-show banner.
  • Calculate how much an existing poster shrinks when printed on a smaller sheet.
  • Check whether a letter-size layout fits tabloid with a single uniform scale.
  • Quickly determine the scale factor when a print shop asks for "scale at X%".
  • Compare fit-to-width vs. fit-to-height scaling before sending files to press.
