Summary
Calculate how many pages fit on a press sheet for print imposition, given sheet size, page size, bleed, and gutter margins.
How it works
- Enter your press sheet width and height in the units of your choice (inches or mm).
- Enter the finished page (trim) width and height.
- Set the bleed value added to each page edge (typically 0.125 in or 3 mm).
- Set the gutter — the gap between adjacent pages on the sheet.
- The calculator divides the sheet dimensions by the expanded page size (trim + 2× bleed + gutter) and floors the result to whole pages.
- Results show columns × rows, total up count, and the used sheet area versus total sheet area.
Use cases
- Estimate how many business cards fit on an SRA3 or 13×19 sheet.
- Plan a booklet signature to minimize paper waste.
- Compare A4 vs. letter sheet yields for a flyer run.
- Check whether a custom label size can run 8-up on your in-house press.
- Quote printing jobs accurately by knowing exact sheet counts.
- Optimize imposition for gang-run printing across multiple designs.
