Is my EPUB file uploaded to a server?

No. The entire process runs inside your browser using the JSZip library. Your file is never sent over the network.

What EPUB versions are supported?

Both EPUB 2 and EPUB 3 are supported. The tool reads the OPF package document to discover content files in reading order.

Why does the word count differ from my writing app?

Word count is estimated by splitting on whitespace after stripping HTML tags. Minor differences from other tools are normal due to hyphenation, special characters, and footnote handling.

How do I paste the table into Excel?

Click "Copy as TSV", then open Excel, click an empty cell, and press Ctrl+V (Windows) or Cmd+V (Mac). Each column will land in a separate cell automatically.

Can I extract the full text of each chapter?

The table shows a 200-character preview. For full text, you can use a dedicated EPUB reader or converter; this tool focuses on structure and quick scanning.

What if my EPUB has no chapter titles?

If no title is found in the HTML, the tool falls back to the filename of the content file so every row still has an identifier.
