What counts as a business day?

A business day is any weekday (Monday through Friday) that does not fall on a recognized public holiday. Saturdays and Sundays are always excluded.

Which holidays are included for each country?

The calculator includes hardcoded federal/national public holidays for the US, UK, Canada, and Australia for the years 2024 through 2026. Dates are updated each year as official announcements are made.

Can I exclude custom holidays not on the standard list?

Yes. Enter any additional dates you want to exclude in the "Custom holidays to exclude" field, one date per line in YYYY-MM-DD format.

Does the calculator include the start and end dates in the count?

The count includes the start date but excludes the end date, which is the standard convention used in financial and legal calculations. For example, counting from Monday to Wednesday gives 2 business days (Monday and Tuesday).
