How is the retirement date calculated?

The tool adds your desired retirement age (in years) to your birth date, landing on the exact calendar date you will turn that age. If you were born on February 29, retirement falls on March 1 in non-leap years.

What is the default retirement age?

The default is 65. Note: the full Social Security retirement age (FRA) for people born 1943–1954 is 66, and 67 for those born in 1960 or later. Age 65 was the FRA only for those born in 1937 or earlier. You can change it to any age between 40 and 85.

Does this account for early or late retirement?

Yes. Simply change the retirement age field. Lower values (e.g., 50, 55) model early retirement; higher values (e.g., 67, 70) model delayed retirement.

Is my data stored or sent anywhere?
