Can I share my countdown with others?

Does the timer keep running if I switch tabs?

The countdown is calculated from the target timestamp on every tick, not by decrementing a counter. That means even if the tab is backgrounded and the browser throttles JavaScript, the display will be accurate when you return to the tab. The remaining time is also shown in the browser tab title.

Will the alarm play automatically?

Modern browsers require a user interaction (such as pressing Start) before allowing audio. As long as you click Start to begin the countdown, the Web Audio API alarm will fire when the timer reaches zero without any additional prompts.
