Does this calculator follow order of operations?

Yes. Parentheses come first, then exponents, then multiplication and division, then addition and subtraction. A minus sign in front of a number applies after the exponent, so −2² = −4 while (−2)² = 4. A number written next to π, e, a function or a bracket is multiplied: 2π = 6.28318530718 and 3(4) = 12.

Are trig functions in degrees or radians?

You can toggle between DEG and RAD with the DEG/RAD button. The current mode is shown in the top-left of the display. Default is degrees. Exact angles give exact answers: sin(180) = 0, cos(90) = 0, and tan(90) shows Undefined because the tangent has no value at 90° + k·180° (π/2 + kπ in radians).

What is the maximum factorial value I can compute?

Factorials up to 170! are computed as finite numbers. Beyond that, the result overflows JavaScript's floating-point range and will display Infinity.

Can I type expressions directly from my keyboard?

Yes. Type digits, operators (+, -, *, /), parentheses, and decimal points. Press Enter or = to evaluate, Escape to clear.

Is my calculation history saved?

Can I use fractions on this scientific calculator?

Yes, as division. Type each fraction with ÷ and wrap it in parentheses: (3 ÷ 4) + (1 ÷ 8) = 0.875. Results are shown as decimals, not as fractions. To get an answer like 7/8, use the Fraction Calculator.

How do I enter an exponent or a root other than the square root?

Use xʸ for any power: 2 xʸ 10 = 1024, and 2 xʸ −1 = 0.5. For other roots, raise to a fraction in parentheses: the cube root of 27 is 27 xʸ (1 ÷ 3) = 3. x² squares a number and √ takes the square root directly.

How does the % key work?

Like a handheld calculator. After + or −, b% means b percent of the number before it: 50 + 10% = 55 (50 + 5), 200 − 15% = 170 and 2 × 3 + 10% = 6.6. What is the difference between log and ln?

log is the base-10 logarithm and ln is the natural logarithm with base e (about 2.718281828). log(100) = 2 because 10² = 100, and ln(e) = 1. For any other base, divide two logs: log₂(8) = log(8) ÷ log(2) = 3.
