Will this work on scanned PDFs?

Only if the scan includes a searchable text layer. Image-only scans have no embedded text and will return empty results. OCR software is required for those.

Is my PDF uploaded to any server?

No. All processing happens locally in your browser using PDF.js and SheetJS. Your file never leaves your device.

Will tables be perfectly extracted?

True table detection from PDF is very difficult because PDF does not natively store table structure. The tool does its best to map text positions to rows, but results may need manual cleanup in Excel.

How is each sheet organized?

Each PDF page becomes one Excel sheet. Text lines from the page become rows in the sheet, split into columns where tab or multiple-space separators are detected.

Is there a file size limit?

No hard limit is imposed by this tool. Very large PDFs may take several seconds to process depending on your device.

How it works

PDF.js parses the PDF in your browser and retrieves each text item along with its position coordinates. Text items on the same vertical line are grouped into rows; horizontal spacing is used to split items into columns. SheetJS (xlsx library) then writes those rows into an Excel workbook with one worksheet per PDF page, which is saved as a .xlsx binary and downloaded to your device.
