Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. All rendering happens locally in your browser using PDF.js. Your file never leaves your device.

What does the DPI setting do?

DPI (dots per inch) controls the render scale. Higher DPI produces larger, sharper images. 72 DPI is screen resolution, 150 DPI is good for most uses, and 300 DPI is print quality.

What does the quality slider control?

The quality slider sets the JPEG compression level. 100% gives the largest file with the best detail. 60% gives a much smaller file with slight compression artifacts.

Will this work on password-protected PDFs?

A PDF that asks for a password to open cannot be read, and the page shows Could not read PDF. If you know the password, remove it with PDF Unlock first and convert the unlocked copy. PDFs that open without a password but block printing or editing usually convert fine.

Is there a page limit?

There is no hard limit. Very large PDFs may take longer to process depending on your device performance and the DPI setting chosen.

Can I download all pages at once as a ZIP?

Yes. Download all as ZIP builds one archive in your browser (report-pages.zip for report.pdf) holding report-page-1.jpg, report-page-2.jpg and so on. Download All saves the same pages as separate JPG files instead; your browser may ask once whether this site can download multiple files, so click Allow.

What size will my JPG images be?

Pixels = page size in inches × DPI. A US Letter page (8.5 × 11 in) gives 612 × 792 px at 72 DPI, 1275 × 1650 px at 150 DPI and 2550 × 3300 px at 300 DPI. An A4 page gives 1240 × 1754 px at 150 DPI and 2480 × 3508 px at 300 DPI. Higher DPI files take longer to make and are bigger.

How is this different from extracting images from a PDF?

This converter takes a picture of each whole page, with text, drawings and photos together, at the DPI you choose.
