Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs inside your browser using PDF.js and JSZip. Your file is never sent to any server, making this safe for sensitive documents.

Will images from the PDF appear in the EPUB?

No. This tool produces a text-only EPUB. Images embedded in the PDF are not extracted. If your PDF is image-based (scanned pages), there will be little or no extractable text.

Why is the EPUB text out of order or garbled?

PDF does not store text in reading order — it stores drawing commands. Multi-column layouts, footnotes, or complex typography can cause words to appear out of sequence. This is a known limitation of client-side PDF text extraction.

Can I open the EPUB on a Kindle?

Kindle devices require MOBI or AZW3 format. However, you can transfer the EPUB to Kindle via the Send to Kindle app or convert it with Calibre. Most other e-readers (Kobo, Apple Books, Google Play Books) open EPUB directly.

Can I convert a password-protected PDF?

Yes. If your PDF has a user password you will be prompted to enter it. The password is only used locally to unlock the file and is never transmitted anywhere.

Is there a file size limit?

There is no hard limit imposed by this tool. Very large PDFs may take a few extra seconds because all processing runs in the browser tab.
