When should the Lille score be calculated?

The Lille score requires bilirubin measured on both day 0 (before starting steroids) and day 7 of corticosteroid treatment. It cannot be calculated earlier, because day-7 bilirubin response is a key input.

How was the Lille model derived?

Louvet et al. (2007) derived and validated the model in a cohort of 320 patients with severe alcoholic hepatitis (Maddrey DF ≥ 32) treated with prednisolone. The logistic regression identified bilirubin change, age, albumin, creatinine, and PT as independent predictors of 6-month mortality.
