Summary

Enter your high school courses with letter grades and credit hours to instantly see both your weighted (AP/Honors) and unweighted GPA side by side.

How it works

  1. Add each course with its name, letter grade, credit hours, and course level (Regular, Honors, or AP).
  2. The unweighted GPA treats all courses equally on a 4.0 scale regardless of course level.
  3. The weighted GPA adds +0.5 for Honors courses and +1.0 for AP courses, capped at 5.0.
  4. Quality points for each course equal the grade points multiplied by the credit hours.
  5. Both GPAs are computed as total quality points divided by total credit hours.
  6. Click Calculate to see the results, or Reset to start over with default rows.

Use cases

  • High school students checking their GPA before submitting college applications.
  • Students with a mix of AP, Honors, and regular classes who want both weighted and unweighted values.
  • Parents verifying how an AP or Honors enrollment choice will affect their child's GPA.
  • Counselors quickly demonstrating the GPA impact of course level choices to students.
  • Students tracking semester-by-semester progress toward a GPA goal.
  • Applicants to honors programs that require a specific weighted or unweighted GPA threshold.
