Summary
Enter your high school courses with letter grades and credit hours to instantly see both your weighted (AP/Honors) and unweighted GPA side by side.
How it works
- Add each course with its name, letter grade, credit hours, and course level (Regular, Honors, or AP).
- The unweighted GPA treats all courses equally on a 4.0 scale regardless of course level.
- The weighted GPA adds +0.5 for Honors courses and +1.0 for AP courses, capped at 5.0.
- Quality points for each course equal the grade points multiplied by the credit hours.
- Both GPAs are computed as total quality points divided by total credit hours.
- Click Calculate to see the results, or Reset to start over with default rows.
Use cases
- High school students checking their GPA before submitting college applications.
- Students with a mix of AP, Honors, and regular classes who want both weighted and unweighted values.
- Parents verifying how an AP or Honors enrollment choice will affect their child's GPA.
- Counselors quickly demonstrating the GPA impact of course level choices to students.
- Students tracking semester-by-semester progress toward a GPA goal.
- Applicants to honors programs that require a specific weighted or unweighted GPA threshold.
