Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser using the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

What image formats can I upload?

Any format your browser supports: PNG, JPG, WebP, GIF, BMP, and SVG.

Why do I need a background color option?

Canvas draws transparent pixels as black by default. Picking white (or any color) fills transparent areas before the PNG is exported.

What is the difference between square-crop and stretch?

Square crop takes the largest centered square from your image and scales it down, keeping the subject centered. Stretch scales the full image to fit the square, which may distort non-square originals.

Can I download all three sizes at once?

Will the PNG look sharp at 16x16?

The Canvas API uses bilinear interpolation. For best results, use a simple, high-contrast image. Complex photos tend to become unrecognizable at 16x16.
