Is my Excel file uploaded to a server?

No. The entire conversion happens locally in your browser using JavaScript. Your file never leaves your device.

Which Excel formats are supported?

Both .xlsx (Excel 2007+) and .xls (older format) files are supported via the SheetJS library.

Will formulas be evaluated in the PNG?

SheetJS reads the cached formula result stored in the file, so if the workbook was saved with calculated values they will appear. Live recalculation is not performed.

Can I convert a specific sheet in a multi-sheet workbook?

Yes. After uploading, a sheet selector appears letting you pick any sheet from the workbook before rendering.

What is the maximum file size?

There is no hard server limit since everything runs in-browser, but very large sheets (tens of thousands of rows) may be slow to render on canvas. For best results keep sheets under a few thousand rows.

Does the PNG preserve cell colors and bold text?

The current renderer draws cell borders, text content, column widths, and row heights. Advanced styling like per-cell background colors and font weights is approximated from the raw cell data.
