What is the time difference between London and Ho Chi Minh City?

Ho Chi Minh City (ICT, UTC+7) is 7 hours ahead of London in winter (GMT, UTC+0) and 6 hours ahead in summer (BST, UTC+1). Ho Chi Minh City does not observe Daylight Saving Time, so the offset changes only when the UK shifts its clocks in spring and autumn.

Does Ho Chi Minh City observe Daylight Saving Time?

No. Ho Chi Minh City uses ICT (Indochina Time, UTC+7) year-round. Only London shifts its clocks, which is why the London-Ho Chi Minh City gap alternates between 7 and 6 hours each year.

When does the offset change from 7 to 6 hours?

The UK moves clocks forward on the last Sunday in March at 01:00 GMT, entering BST (UTC+1). At that point Ho Chi Minh City goes from 7 hours ahead to 6 hours ahead. The gap returns to 7 hours on the last Sunday in October at 02:00 BST when the UK reverts to GMT.

What are the best meeting times for London and Ho Chi Minh City?

During GMT (winter), a 09:00 London call lands at 16:00 in Ho Chi Minh City — a reasonable window. During BST (summer), 09:00 London is 15:00 in Ho Chi Minh City, giving a comfortable afternoon slot. A 09:00–12:00 London window works well for both cities business hours.

Is this tool accurate for scheduling?

Yes. It uses the IANA timezone database embedded in your browser — the same source used by operating systems and calendar apps worldwide. Accuracy depends on your device clock being synchronized via NTP, which most devices do automatically.

ICT stands for Indochina Time. It is UTC+7, used across Vietnam, Thailand, Laos, Cambodia, and parts of Indonesia year-round. There is no Daylight Saving adjustment in any of these countries.

Summary

This tool displays the live current time in both London (Europe/London — GMT in winter, BST in summer) and Ho Chi Minh City (Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh — ICT, UTC+7 year-round, no DST) side by side. Ho Chi Minh City does not observe Daylight Saving Time, so the offset shifts twice a year: 7 hours ahead of London in winter (GMT) and 6 hours ahead in summer (BST). Use this tool to schedule calls with Vietnam, coordinate remote teams across the UK and Southeast Asia, or convert a specific meeting time between the two cities.

How it works

Your browser reads the current moment from your device clock.
It converts that moment to Europe/London time using the IANA timezone database built into modern browsers.
The same moment is converted to Asia/Ho_Chi_Minh time (ICT, UTC+7).
The UTC offsets of both cities are compared to calculate the exact hour difference.
All three values — London time, Ho Chi Minh City time, and the offset — refresh every second.
When London switches between GMT and BST, the displayed offset adjusts automatically from +7 to +6 hours.
