Summary
Enter model volume, height, layer height, and infill, or pick a speed preset, to get a layer-aware print time estimate.
How it works
- Enter your model volume in cubic centimeters (cm³), from your slicer or CAD software.
- Enter the model height in millimeters — this drives the layer count and overhead time.
- Set layer height, infill percentage, and nozzle diameter to match your printer profile.
- Pick a Draft, Standard, or Fine speed preset, or choose Custom and enter your own print speed.
- Optionally adjust the per-layer overhead seconds (travel, retraction, z-hop between layers).
- Click Calculate to see estimated print time, layer count, and a toolpath vs. overhead breakdown.
Use cases
- Estimate print duration for taller models where layer-change overhead adds up.
- Compare print time across Draft, Standard, and Fine speed profiles before slicing.
- Sanity-check a slicer time estimate against a layer-aware formula.
- Plan overnight print queues when scheduling multiple jobs.
- See how layer height changes both layer count and total print time.
- Estimate time for a redesign before committing to a full slice.
