How it works
- Paste or type Chinese characters (Hanzi) into the input box.
- Each character is looked up in a built-in Pinyin dictionary of common Mandarin characters.
- The result shows Pinyin syllables with tone marks (ā á ǎ à) above the corresponding character.
- Toggle between tone marks and tone numbers (e.g. ma1, ma2) using the format button.
- Characters not in the dictionary pass through unchanged.
- Click "Copy Pinyin" to copy the result to your clipboard.
Use cases
- Mandarin learners checking pronunciation of new vocabulary.
- Reading Chinese text when you know Pinyin but not all characters.
- Language teachers preparing Pinyin annotations for class materials.

- Checking tone patterns in Chinese songs, poems, or dialogue.
- Developers testing Chinese text pipelines with ASCII-compatible output.
