Monthly Recurring Revenue (MRR) is the predictable monthly revenue generated from all active subscriptions. It equals the number of paying customers multiplied by the average revenue per account (ARPA). MRR is the primary health metric for subscription businesses.

Annual Recurring Revenue (ARR) is MRR multiplied by 12. It represents the annualized value of your subscription base, assuming no growth or churn, and is the figure most commonly cited in funding rounds and valuations.

Average Revenue Per Account (ARPA) is total MRR divided by the number of active customers. It tells you how much revenue each customer generates on average per month. Rising ARPA usually indicates successful upselling or pricing power.

How does the growth projection work?

Each month, new customers are added based on the net growth rate you specify (gross new customers minus churned customers, expressed as a percentage of the current base). ARPA is held constant. The table shows cumulative MRR and ARR at each month.

What is a good MRR growth rate?

Early-stage SaaS companies often target 10–20% month-over-month growth. At scale, 5–10% monthly growth is considered strong. Sustainable long-term growth depends heavily on churn: even 15% monthly growth is eroded by high churn rates.
