When is the education point added?

One point is added to the raw score when the patient has 12 or fewer years of formal education, as specified in the original MoCA validation study. The adjusted score is capped at 30.

What score is considered normal?

A score of 26 or above (after adjustment) is generally considered within the normal range. Scores of 18–25 suggest mild cognitive impairment, 10–17 moderate impairment, and below 10 severe impairment.

Does this tool administer the MoCA?

No. This tool only calculates and interprets a score you have already obtained using the official MoCA paper form. The actual test must be administered by a trained clinician.
