Summary

Enter five clinical parameters to compute the ABCD2 score (0–7) and see the estimated 2-day stroke risk after a TIA.

How it works

  1. Select the patient's age category (under 60 or 60 and older).
  2. Indicate whether systolic BP was 140 mmHg or higher, or diastolic 90 mmHg or higher.
  3. Choose the most prominent clinical feature: unilateral weakness, speech disturbance without weakness, or other.
  4. Select the duration of TIA symptoms (under 10 minutes, 10–59 minutes, or 60 minutes or longer).
  5. Indicate whether the patient has a history of diabetes.
  6. The score (0–7) and corresponding 2-day stroke risk percentage are displayed instantly.

Use cases

  • Emergency department triage after a suspected TIA.
  • Determining urgency of neurology referral or hospital admission.
  • Educational reference for medical students learning TIA risk stratification.
  • Quick bedside risk communication with patients and families.
  • Supporting documentation in clinical case notes.
  • Comparing risk across multiple patients in a teaching scenario.
