No. The entire meme is created inside your browser using the HTML Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

What image formats are supported?

Any format your browser can display works: JPEG, PNG, WebP, GIF (first frame), and BMP.

Can I use an image from the web?

You need to download the image to your device first and then upload it. Direct URL loading is not supported due to browser cross-origin restrictions.

Why does the text look different from classic memes?

Classic memes use Impact font. If Impact is installed on your system it will be used automatically; otherwise the tool falls back to a bold system font. You can adjust font size with the slider.

What resolution is the downloaded PNG?

The PNG is exported at the original resolution of your uploaded image, so quality is not reduced.
