Which Excel formats are supported?

Both .xlsx (Excel 2007 and later) and .xls (older Excel 97–2003 format) are supported. CSV and ODS files work too since SheetJS handles them natively.

What happens with merged cells or formulas?

Formulas are expanded to their computed values. Merged cells are reflected as single cells in the HTML. Complex formatting like colors and fonts is not included — the output is semantic HTML for easy styling.
