No. Both abbreviations are BST but they refer to different offsets. Bangladesh Standard Time is UTC+6 and is permanent. British Summer Time is UTC+1 and is observed only in summer in the United Kingdom.

Does Dhaka observe Daylight Saving Time?

No. Bangladesh has not observed Daylight Saving Time since 2009, so UTC+6 applies every day of the year.

How many hours ahead of UTC is Dhaka?

Dhaka is exactly 6 hours ahead of Coordinated Universal Time (UTC+6).

What is the time difference between Dhaka and New York?

New York is UTC-5 (EST) or UTC-4 (EDT) depending on the season. Dhaka is either 11 or 10 hours ahead of New York respectively.

Is the time shown here accurate?

Yes. The tool uses your browser's built-in clock (which is synchronized via NTP on most devices) and applies the fixed UTC+6 offset for Dhaka. Accuracy depends on your device clock being correctly set.
