What does "ratio" mean here?

Ratio is the number of parts of each ingredient relative to the others. For example, a classic Daiquiri uses 2 parts rum, 1 part lime juice, and 0.75 parts simple syrup. The calculator converts these parts into real volumes based on your chosen serving size.

How is the ABV calculated?

ABV is estimated by dividing the total pure alcohol volume (each ingredient's volume multiplied by its ABV fraction) by the total drink volume. This assumes no dilution from ice, which is noted as an approximation.

Can I use this for non-alcoholic drinks?

Yes. Set the ABV to 0 for every ingredient. The calculator will still scale ratios and volumes correctly — it will simply show 0% ABV.

What is a standard serving size?

A typical cocktail serving is 2–3 oz (60–90 ml) total. Classic short drinks like a Manhattan are often around 3 oz; shots are 1.5 oz. You can enter any size that suits your recipe.

Does the tool account for ice dilution?
