What does ASPRI stand for?

ASPRI stands for Age–Spleen–Platelet Ratio Index. It combines age-category points with the spleen-to-platelet ratio index (SPRI).

What is the ASPRI formula?

ASPRI = age points + (spleen diameter in cm ÷ platelet count in 10⁹/L × 100). Age points range from 0 for people under 30 to 5 for people aged 70 or older.

How is ASPRI interpreted?

The original chronic hepatitis B study reported that ASPRI greater than 12 identified a subset with a high positive predictive value for cirrhosis. A score of 12 or less is not proof that cirrhosis is absent.

Can ASPRI diagnose cirrhosis?

No calculator result can establish a diagnosis by itself. ASPRI was derived in a specific chronic hepatitis B cohort and requires clinical interpretation alongside history, examination, laboratory testing, imaging, elastography, and other appropriate evaluation.

Which platelet unit should I enter?
