Does it handle accented letters correctly?

Yes. The tool treats á, é, í, ó, ú, ñ, ü (and their uppercase forms) as valid word characters, so "también" counts as one word, not two.

How are sentences counted?

A new sentence is detected after a period (.), question mark (? or the Spanish ¿ opener), or exclamation mark (! or the Spanish ¡ opener). Multiple punctuation marks in a row are treated as one sentence boundary.

Is punctuation included in character counts?

The "Characters (with spaces)" count includes every character including spaces and punctuation. The "Characters (no spaces)" count excludes space characters only — punctuation is still included.

Are words case-insensitive in the frequency table?

Yes. "Casa" and "casa" are counted together as one entry, displayed in lowercase.
