No. All PDF processing happens in your browser using pdf-lib. Your name, SSN, and signature never leave your device.

Do I need to download a blank W-9 first?

No. The official blank Form W-9 (Rev. March 2024) is built into this tool. If the IRS publishes a newer revision, you can upload it and the tool will fill that copy instead.

Is this the current W-9 form for 2026?

What is the pipe-delimited format?

Can I use a different PDF template?

You can upload another copy of the official IRS Form W-9, including a newer revision. The tool writes into the form fields the IRS defines, so an unrelated PDF will not work.

Can I still edit the PDF after downloading?

No. The form is flattened on download so your values and signature cannot be altered. To change something, edit the fields here and generate the PDF again.
