How are soccer league points calculated?

The standard system awards 3 points for a win, 1 point for a draw, and 0 points for a loss. Total points = (Wins × 3) + (Draws × 1).

How are tiebreakers handled?

When two or more teams have the same number of points, this calculator ranks them by goal difference (goals scored minus goals conceded). If goal difference is also equal, teams are listed alphabetically. Real leagues may also use head-to-head results or goals scored — check your competition rules.

Can I include goal difference data?

Yes. Expand each team row using the "GD" option to enter goals scored and goals conceded. The calculator uses goal difference as the first tiebreaker when points are level.

Does this work for other football codes?

The 3-1-0 point system is also used in many rugby union, rugby league, and field hockey competitions. You can use this tool for any sport that follows the same point structure.
