Is my rent receipt data uploaded anywhere?

No. Everything you type stays in your browser. The PDF is generated locally using the pdf-lib library, and nothing is sent to any server.

Can I record a partial rent payment?

Yes. Set the amount paid lower than the total due, and the receipt shows the remaining balance. Set it higher to record a credit or overpayment.

Can I add a late fee or other charges?

Yes. Use the additional charges section to add a description and amount for each extra charge, such as a late fee or utility bill. They are added to the total due.

What rental period should I enter?

Enter the start and end date of the period this payment covers, such as the first and last day of the month being paid for. This is separate from the payment date itself.

Does this replace a lease agreement?

No. This tool only generates a receipt confirming a payment. It does not create or modify a lease, security deposit agreement, or other legal contract.

Can I use this for a security deposit receipt?

This tool is built for recurring rent payments. For deposit amounts, note it in the additional charges or notes field, though a dedicated deposit record may be more appropriate.
