What is the standard overtime threshold?

What multiplier should I use?

The FLSA minimum for overtime is 1.5x (time-and-a-half). Many employers pay 2x (double-time) for holidays or hours beyond a second threshold. Enter whatever rate applies to your situation.

Does this include taxes or deductions?

No. This tool calculates gross pay only. Taxes, benefits, and other deductions are not applied. Use the result as the pre-tax gross earnings figure.

Can I use a daily threshold instead of weekly?

What if total hours are below the threshold?

Under U.S. federal law (FLSA), overtime is 1.5x your regular rate (time and a half) for hours over 40 in a workweek. The 2x rate (double time) is not federally required — it applies only where an employer policy, union contract, or state rule (such as California double time after 12 hours in a day) calls for it.
