Are the anchor links GitHub-compatible?

Yes. The generator follows GitHub's heading-to-anchor rules: lowercase the text, replace spaces with hyphens, and strip most special characters. The result works on GitHub, GitLab, and most Markdown renderers.

What happens to duplicate headings?

Duplicate anchors are de-duplicated with a numeric suffix (-1, -2, …) the same way GitHub does, so all links remain unique and functional.

Can I include only certain heading levels?

Yes. Use the Min Depth and Max Depth controls to include only the heading levels you want, for example H2-H4 to skip the top-level H1 title.

Does the tool send my Markdown to a server?

No. All processing happens entirely in your browser. Your document is never uploaded or stored anywhere.

Are headings inside code blocks included?

The generator skips headings inside fenced code blocks (``` or ~~~). Inline code and HTML blocks are handled as well.
