Which Markdown elements does it strip?

It removes headings (#), bold (**text** or __text__), italic (*text* or _text_), strikethrough (~~text~~), inline code (`code`), fenced code blocks (```), blockquotes (>), horizontal rules (---), links ([text](url)), images (![alt](url)), and table pipe characters (|).

Does it preserve the link text or just remove the brackets?

By default, links are converted to their visible text — [Read more](https://example.com) becomes "Read more". Enable "Keep URLs" to append the URL in parentheses after the text instead.

What happens to fenced code blocks?

The opening and closing fence lines (``` or ~~~) are removed. The code content inside is kept as plain text by default. Enable "Remove code block content" to discard the code entirely.

Is there a size limit on the input?

There is no hard limit. Very large documents may feel slightly slow depending on your browser, but the tool handles typical README files, blog posts, and documentation pages without issue.
