Is my image uploaded to a server?

No. Everything runs in your browser via the Canvas API. Your image never leaves your device.

What file types are supported?

Any image format your browser supports: JPG, PNG, WebP, GIF, AVIF, BMP, and SVG. The output is always a PNG.

What does the Pixel Size slider control?

It sets the side length of each square pixel block in the output. A value of 1 means no pixelation; larger values (e.g. 20–50) produce a more pronounced mosaic effect.

Will the output dimensions match the original?

Yes. The pixelated image is rendered at the same pixel dimensions as the original; only the visual appearance changes.

Can I pixelate a very large image?

Yes, but very large images (over 6000 px wide) may be slow in older browsers. Modern browsers handle them fine.

How do I download the result?

Click the "Download Pixelated Image" button. The browser saves a PNG file named "pixelated.png" to your downloads folder.
