How it works
- Measure the heart girth — the circumference of the horse's barrel just behind the front legs — with a soft tape, snug and level.
- Measure the body length from the point of shoulder straight back to the point of buttock.
- Pick your units (inches/pounds or centimetres/kilograms) and enter both measurements.
- The tool applies the Carroll & Huntington formula (HG² × BL ÷ 330 for in/lb, or ÷ 11,877 for cm/kg) and returns the estimated weight.
