This tool converts your cat's chronological age into an equivalent human age using the developmental-stage formula endorsed by the American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP). Cats mature extremely rapidly in their first two years — reaching the human equivalent of about 24 years by age 2 — then age at a steadier rate of roughly 4 human years per cat year thereafter.
