Summary

Enter a wood pile's dimensions to get full cords and face cords, or calculate how long a row needs to be for a target cord count.

How it works

  1. Choose your unit system (feet or meters) from the toggle.
  2. Enter the pile's length, width (stack depth), and height.
  3. Read the full cords and face cord equivalents for 16", 18", and 24" log lengths.
  4. Switch to the Cords to Dimensions tab to convert cord counts back to cubic feet or cubic meters.
  5. Use the Row Length tab to find out how long a row must be for a target cord count at a given log length and stack height.

Use cases

  • Verify you received the full cord count a supplier quoted.
  • Plan how much space a firewood delivery will occupy in your yard.
  • Compare prices between suppliers who sell by cord vs. by pile dimension.
  • Calculate how much wood to split and stack for a winter season.
  • Figure out how long a row to build when stacking a specific number of cords.
  • Convert a metric wood pile measurement to cord equivalents.
