Summary
A full cord of wood is a stacked pile measuring 4 ft × 4 ft × 8 ft — exactly 128 cubic feet. Face cords (also called ricks) share the same 4 ft tall × 8 ft wide footprint but use actual log length (16, 18, or 24 inches) instead of the standard 4 ft depth, making them a fraction of a full cord. This calculator converts any pile's measured dimensions to full cords and face cord equivalents, converts between cord types, and works out the row length you need to stack a target number of cords.
