How is the work anniversary date calculated?

The anniversary falls on the same month and day as the hire date, each year. For example, a hire date of March 15, 2015 produces anniversaries on March 15, 2016; March 15, 2017; and so on. The calculator uses the local calendar date of your browser, so no time-zone adjustments are needed.

What happens if an anniversary falls on a weekend or holiday?

The calculator shows the actual calendar anniversary date. Whether to recognize it on the preceding Friday or the following Monday is a company policy decision — the tool tells you the exact date so you can plan accordingly.

What counts as a milestone anniversary?

Common milestones are 1, 5, 10, 15, 20, 25, and 30 years. Many organizations add smaller increments (3 years) for newer employees. This tool highlights all of these by default.

Can I use this for contract or part-time employees?

Yes. The calculator works for any continuous start date, whether the employee is full-time, part-time, or on a fixed-term contract. For non-continuous tenure (gaps in employment), you would need to adjust the hire date to reflect total continuous service.

What if the hire date is a leap day (February 29)?

If the hire date is February 29, anniversaries in non-leap years are treated as March 1. The calculator handles this automatically using standard JavaScript date arithmetic.
