Why does application order matter?

Skincare products are formulated at specific pH levels and molecular sizes. Applying a thick moisturizer before a serum creates a barrier that prevents active ingredients from reaching the skin. Going thinnest to thickest ensures maximum absorption and efficacy.

Can I use retinol and AHA/BHA on the same night?

It is generally not recommended. Both are potent actives that can cause irritation, dryness, and sensitivity when combined. Use them on alternate nights, or apply acids early in the routine and allow them to absorb fully before adding retinol.

Does vitamin C go before or after moisturizer?

Vitamin C serum goes before moisturizer. Apply it to clean, slightly damp skin, allow 60 seconds to absorb, then layer your moisturizer on top to lock it in.

Should I apply sunscreen before or after moisturizer?

Sunscreen is always the last step in an AM routine, applied after moisturizer. Chemical sunscreens need direct contact with skin to work, but moisturizer underneath helps prevent dryness. Apply sunscreen at least 15 minutes before sun exposure.
