Is my PDF uploaded to a server?

No. All processing happens entirely in your browser using the pdf-lib JavaScript library. Your file never leaves your device.

Can I choose where the page number appears?

Yes. You can place numbers at the bottom center, bottom left, bottom right, top center, top left, or top right of each page.

You can choose plain numbers (1, 2, 3), "Page N" format, or "N / Total" format which shows the current page and total page count.

Encrypted or password-protected PDFs will produce an error. Remove the password protection first before adding page numbers.

Yes. Enable the "Skip first page" option to leave the cover page or title page without a number.
