Does this tool upload my M4A file anywhere?

No. The entire conversion happens inside your browser using the Web Audio API. Your file is read into browser memory only and is never transmitted to any server. Closing or refreshing the page clears all data.

Will the WAV quality be better than the original M4A?

No. AAC is a lossy format — audio data was permanently discarded when the M4A was originally encoded. Converting to WAV produces an uncompressed copy of that already-decoded audio. Which bit depth should I choose?
