Summary

Estimate a round brilliant diamond's retail price range based on carat weight, cut, color, and clarity.

How it works

  1. Select a carat weight between 0.25 and 10.00 carats.
  2. Choose a cut grade from Ideal/Excellent down to Fair/Poor.
  3. Select a color grade ranging from colorless (D–F) to very light yellow (K–M).
  4. Pick a clarity grade from Flawless/Internally Flawless down to I1/I2/I3.
  5. The estimator applies base price per carat, color multiplier, cut multiplier, and a carat weight factor to calculate the low and high price range.

Use cases

  • Research a diamond purchase before visiting a jeweler.
  • Compare price impact of trading one grade (e.g., VS1 vs VS2) against another.
  • Understand how carat weight exponentially affects price.
  • Educate yourself on the 4Cs before negotiating with a retailer.
  • Quickly assess whether a listed diamond price is in a reasonable market range.
