Summary

Enter clinical variables to calculate the DAPT Score and determine if extending dual antiplatelet therapy beyond 12 months after coronary stenting is beneficial or harmful.

How it works

  1. Enter the patient's age group and select relevant clinical and procedural variables.
  2. Each variable adds or subtracts points according to the validated DAPT scoring algorithm.
  3. The tool sums all points to produce a score between -2 and +10.
  4. A score ≥2 suggests extended DAPT (>12 months) reduces ischemic events outweighing bleeding risk.
  5. A score <2 suggests extended DAPT increases bleeding risk without sufficient ischemic benefit.
  6. Review the interpretation and discuss findings with the treating cardiologist.

Use cases

  • Assessing whether to continue clopidogrel or prasugrel beyond 12 months post-PCI.
  • Estimating the balance of ischemic vs. bleeding risk for individual stent patients.
  • Supporting shared decision-making between cardiologist and patient.
  • Educational review of DAPT score variables and their clinical weights.
  • Cardiology fellow training and clinical reference.
