What this estimate can and cannot tell you
Final print pagination comes from the laid-out manuscript. Trim size, margins and page count also affect production constraints. Reflowable EPUB readers may paginate dynamically, so an ebook screen count is not fixed.

How it works

- Choose a planning preset or enter your own words-per-page value.
- For a better estimate, calibrate words per page from a representative typeset sample.
- Optionally include front/back matter and round up for print production.
- Review the formula, sensitivity range, and comparison assumptions.
Use cases
- Estimate printed page count before submitting a manuscript to a publisher.
- Plan your book layout and decide on trim size for self-publishing.
- Compare rough planning assumptions without treating them as final pagination.
- Calibrate an estimate from a representative chapter exported from the intended layout.
- Set realistic writing milestones by mapping word-count goals to page targets.
- Estimate printing costs that depend on final page count.
