Calculate Relative Humidity.

Summary

Calculate relative humidity from temperature and dew point, or from actual and saturation vapor pressure. Supports both Celsius and Fahrenheit.

How it works

  1. Choose your preferred input method: Temperature + Dew Point, or Vapor Pressure.
  2. For Temperature + Dew Point: enter both values in Fahrenheit or Celsius.
  3. The Magnus formula computes saturation vapor pressure at the air temperature and at the dew point.
  4. Relative humidity is the ratio e(Td) / e(T) × 100, where e is saturation vapor pressure.
  5. For Vapor Pressure input: enter actual and saturation vapor pressure in hPa or kPa.
  6. Results include the RH percentage, vapor pressures, and a comfort level rating.

Use cases

  • Verify weather station readings by cross-checking temperature, dew point, and humidity.
  • Determine indoor air quality and comfort for HVAC system settings.
  • Assess mold and condensation risk in buildings and storage facilities.
  • Help meteorologists and students understand the relationship between temperature and moisture.
  • Plan outdoor activities by converting dew point readings to intuitive humidity percentages.
  • Support agricultural decisions about irrigation and crop moisture stress.
